Then, on Friday, October 29, C&A employees enjoyed the fall season once again taking part in the annual Trick-or-Treat Event. Children of employees arrived at C&A Plaza and Lakeside, decked out as their favorite characters, football players, and scary monsters. Our little trick-or-treaters had a ball, as they happily moved throughout our divisions and departments collecting goodies to satisfy their sweet teeth.

The Marketing and Training departments got into the Halloween spirit, too, with a pumpkin carving contest.

Congratulations to Ronald W. AurStaff’s Q3 Employee of the Quarter. Ron has been with AurStaff since July 2010 and is a perfect example of an AurStaff employee. Ron is very flexible, goes to work early, and always volunteers for overtime. His quality of work and his initiative go above and beyond the required work performance level is truly admirable. Ron definitely deserves this distinguished honor. Congratulations!

A study from the Pew Research Center found that 38 percent of participants age 62 or older say they may delay their retirement because of the current recession. However, 54 percent of employees 65+ say they’re still working because they want to.

The oldest working American may be Jack Borden, a 101-year-old Texas lawyer.

According to the CNN Web site, Borden continues to put in a 40-hour work week, arriving at his office at 6:30 most mornings and working until about 4 p.m. (though he takes a 45-minute nap in the afternoon, per his doctor’s instructions).
